Why do you need to accept Jesus? You need to accept Jesus(or get saved) because we are all sinners, which means we have all broken God's commandments. Have you ever lied, stolen or desired to have something that did not belong to you? We all have at least lied a time or two in our lives. The Bible tells us in James 2:10 that if we break one of God's commandments, it is as if we have broken them all. Because we have broken God's commandments we are all in danger of Hell.

The greatest thing is that God wants to let you start over, he wants to help you, and he wants to guide you. God wants all his children to accept him, it’s just up to you to make the decision. We know that’s crazy, huh? But without free will God wouldn’t be able to demonstrate to you how much he loves you. Think about everything you’ve done wrong, how awesome is it that God will wash that clean all in one instance if you allow him to – all because he loves you so much and will never think about it again- never. We think that’s awesome, don’t you?

So okay I’m ready! How do I accept Christ?

Jesus is ready to come into your life. He's just waiting for you to ask him to. But how do you know how to invite him in, if you don't have any clue what to say? Well, you can let your heart lead you. God will hear you. He will know and understand what you mean, he knows your heart. But the bible does give us some "guidelines" so we can make sure we know we have really accepted Christ. Please know that the order of these are not important, but saying it and really meaning it is :)

  1. Believe : "That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9
  2. You must believe that without a doubt Jesus Christ is the son of the living God and that Jesus died on the cross for your sins. It’s not just enough for your parents to believe it, or for you to just say you believe it, but you must really believe it. You must believe it so much that if someone were to put you in jail if you said you believe it, that you would be willing to be put in jail.
  3. Confess : “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” I John 1:9
  4. The Bible says that we have all sinned and fell short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23) . Yes, this means even you!! You must admit to God that you are a sinner and confess to him your sins.
  5. Repent : Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord” Acts 3:19
  6. When you repent, you turn away from your sins (1 Thessalonians 1:9). This doesn’t mean you say, I’m sorry and do it again. This means you say you are sorry, you mean it, and you stop doing what you were doing. No one is perfect, God knows that, but if you are sinning and you know it, stop!!

What no formal prayer?

Why aren’t we giving you a prayer? Because this should be something from your heart, it shouldn’t be something we just write down, you recite, and call it done. Talk to God and tell him that you believe that Jesus is Lord and that he died for your sins. Let him know that you you confess of all of your sins and that you repent and want to turn away from all of your past sins . If you need to, go get your Bible, look at the verses we showed you, sit down and think about them. It won’t hurt to bad, we promise :) . When you pray be sure you include all the things above, whatever you do, make sure that you say what’s really in your heart. He’s listening; he’s just waiting for you to let him in and he will guide you.
